Caller-ID becomes de facto standard for local search apps
Vienna/ Copenhagen, 30 October 2014: Mobile ad-tech company, CIAmedia today announced a deal with Herold, the leading Austrian online, mobile and print telephone local search and directory service. Herold has integrated CIAmedia’s patented SDK into its Android App giving its users an automated and easy to use caller-id and number-suggest service.
The SDK provides a real-time overlay that detects the identity of the businesses that are calling Herold App users, enabling them to manage anonymous incoming calls. Company details are displayed after each call and can be saved to the app user’s address book with one click.
In addition, each time Herold app users make an unanswered business call, the CIAmedia SDK automatically provides three alternative merchants’ numbers based on data and listings contained within the Herold directory service which the user can then click to call. The SDK includes full integration with Herold’s rating and recommendation engine so that its customers are presented with an additional layer of user-generated information that informs their next call.
The CIAmedia SDK operates as part of the Herold app, in the background, so that callers are identified to the user, even when the app is closed. With CIAmedia’s technology inside, unsuccessful business calls are detected independently of where the user sourced and dialled the number from, e.g. following a search on Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yelp, Foursquare or any other site or app.
George Koch, Director Business and Product Development for Herold said:
“The Herold service spans print, online and mobile and is the bridge between millions of consumers and businesses. By integrating the CIAmedia SDK we are effectively extending the Herold mobile user experience and delivering real value to our directory subscribers.”
Claudia Dreier-Poepperl, CEO and founder at CIAmedia said:
“We are delighted to see Herold join our wide range of Caller-ID SDK customers. Caller-ID has now become a de facto standard and must have for local search apps.”
