CIAmedia launches SDK that hijacks (call-jacks) local search marketshare from Google
Patented SDK instantly doubles local search traffic and calls for Local Search and Directory Apps
Vienna, 5 December 2013: Mobile ad-tech company, CIAmedia today announced the launch of its patented call-triggered advertising technology in a universally available SDK.
Local Search companies simply load the CIAmedia SDK into their Android apps. When calls to merchants fail, their app instantly displays alternative like-merchants’ contact details (advertisers) in the same neighbourhood. Callers can then simply Click2Call, generating mass volumes of incremental calls to advertisers.
The CIAmedia SDK works independently of whether the user searched and found the number on Google, Bing or any other website or app. Google dominates mobile browser search (StatCounter 2013) and according to comScore also takes a big share in app based local search.
With as much as 30- 40% of business calls going unanswered, CIAmedia technology represents a major opportunity for Local Search companies to now divert unanswered business calls – following a Google search – to their advertisers. Generally this is when users call outside office hours, when lines are busy, dialling discontinued numbers, when businesses simply do not answer the phone, or the user only gets through to voicemail.
Typically, Local Search apps get used only two to three times per month. The rest of the time the apps are closed and do not produce any traffic or calls. With the CIAmedia SDK inside, apps are automatically woken up as the SDK operates in the background and detects unsuccessful business calls even when the app is closed.
Claudia Dreier-Poepperl, CEO and founder at CIAmedia said: “Adding the CIAmedia SDK into apps delivers our clients a market-disruptive technology to take back their fair share of mobile local search from the big guys, and drive unprecedented volumes of calls directly to their advertisers.”
The CIAmedia SDK is particularly beneficial to local search apps including yellow pages, yellowpages, yp.com, white pages, dex knows, superpages, yellowbook, yell, pages jaunes, yelp, foursquare, yahoo, bing, Google maps, Google places, yandex, pagine gialle, paginas amarillas, paginas amarelas and other apps in that segment.
CIAmedia is a mobile ad-tech company that delivers Call Triggered Advertising, creating entirely new mobile ad-inventory space that is initiated by voice calls and not only based on browsing or in-app activity. Turning almost every phone call into a new advertising opportunity CIAmedia’s patented ad-technology, processes a user’s call behaviour in real time to provide highly relevant targeting options for advertisers.
The ad-technology is available via the CIAmedia SDK to app publishers and developers who wish to instantly increase calls to their advertisers, impressions and revenue from their apps. CIAmedia’s technology also runs in its popular CIA – Caller Identification AppTM (cia-app.com) with more than 25 million users around the globe.
Formed in 2013 CIAmedia GmbH is privately held with headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
