Thomson Local gets on board with
CIA – Caller Identification App™

to help consumers block the calls that they don’t want and make the calls that they do

Vienna/ London 7 November 2013Mobile advertising technology company, CIAmedia has partnered with UK local business directory service, Thomsonlocal, to integrate its –customer’s data in to CIAmedia’s free ‘CIA – Caller Identification App™’ (cia-app.com) for Android and iPhone devices.

The app which has already hit 25 million downloads worldwide allows users to identify whoever is calling them from outside their personal contacts by displaying caller identity details before the call is answered.

Once a call is completed the user can save the name and number to the contacts list with only one click and rate the experience, providing useful feedback for other app users. This feature is particularly useful when it comes to blocking unwanted calls from telemarketers.

For outbound calls, the CIA – Caller Identification App™ also helps consumers reach the business services they are looking for  by automatically suggesting alternative merchants in the nearby vicinity when a call  unanswered.  In particular plumbers, builders, gardeners, car garages, restaurants, banks, insurance service providers, car dealers, retailers , taxis, sports and fashion retailers, doctors surgeries are bad at picking up the phone with an estimated 40 percent of business calls not being answered. By identifying and suggesting similar merchants from the Thomsonlocal data based on location and business type, the Caller Identification App fills passes these business leads  to the Thomsonocal business subscribers, building value and initiating commerce.

Other functions of the app include the ability to save and back-up contacts which consumers find useful when switching phones, in particular from one mobile operating system to another.
